Description:
Bonorong Park was established in 1981 as a sanctuary for injured and orphaned wildlife. Owner, 26 year old Greg Irons, has had a lifetime passion for animal rehabilitation and releasing animals back into the wild. When seven years old and first visiting Bonorong Wildlife Park he stated to his mother that he would own Bonorong one day and that has now become a reality. Greg believes in grass roots education and regularly undertakes talks at junior and secondary schools. He has hand raised numerous species from Tasmanian Devils and Eastern Quolls to Tawny Frogmouths and Eastern-Barred Bandicoots. He believes that if people first gain a greater understanding of the animals this can result in a passion for helping them. Greg has turned Bonorong into a sanctuary that focuses on education, rehabilitation and release of native wildlife. Running over 1000 tours a year the staff at Bonorong are all very experienced in interpretation and wildlife husbandry.
Full Itinerary:
Valid for 01APR26-31MAR27:
The Private Premium Feeding Frenzy is an exclusive daytime feeding tour; a private experience just for you and whoever you are with. An experienced staff will be your guide for the duration of this intimate, private tour. A glass of Tasmanian sparkling wine or fruit juice will greet you upon arrival, before you head into the Sanctuary to observe and interact with our curious native wildlife.Enjoy an extensive session on Tasmanian devils where you meet them, learn their names; hear their individual stories and little known facts about this amazing, and endangered species. Feed a Tassie devil their snacks and snap a photo from less than one metre away! You will enter the animals’ world and hand feed weird and wonderful creatures like Eastern quolls, tawny frogmouths and sugar gliders. In fact, you are going to help feed almost all of our animals. A special highlight is meeting our mob of friendly Forester kangaroos. You are also going to meet some incredible survivors as many of the animals are recovering from injury or are orphans. We will show you how your visit is helping us return them to the wild. It’s going to be a journey of incredible (and often very moving) fun. This is three hours of the ultimate Tasmanian wildlife experience.
