An Australian Luxury Escapes vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence your Bruny Island tour. Departing your hotel this morning and travelling south-west, we pass by stunning countryside and the beautiful Huon River before soon arriving at the tiny village of Kettering. Drive onto the Bruny Island ferry for the 20-minute ride across the crystal-clear waters of D'Entrecasteaux Channel. On arrival on Bruny Island, we stop at Bruny Island Cheese. Set amongst the eucalypts here you will experience a 30-minute tasting experience hosting by skilled artisans, consisting of 4 cheeses, freshly baked sourdough and beer made on site. Next, we climb nearly 300 steps up the dunes to the top of “The Neck and Truganini Lookout” to witness spectacular 360-degree views of the whole of the Island, as well as mainland Tasmania. Rejoining the vehicle, we now head towards Get Shucked, for some world class Bruny Island oysters. Grown in the clean waters just meters from the shoreline, you can taste some local oysters with a local beer or wine. Lunch today is at Bruny Island Premium Wines, Australia's most southern vineyard. This family run business is situated on a 120-acre estate that boasts 6000 Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines is in the sleepy little island township of Lunawanna. Sit back, enjoy stunning views and experience a unique, local lunch full of the island’s fine produce and the estates handcrafted wines. After lunch, we depart to the Eastern side of the island and marvel at the stunning scenery along the way before arriving at Bruny Island Berry Farm. Choose from a variety of incredibly fresh, locally grown berries, enjoy a berry-based ice cream or purchase from the colourful gift shop full of exquisite candles, mouthwatering confectionery, jams, quality gifts and accessories; there really is something for everyone. From here we embark on the ferry for the trip back to the mainland. Travelling back through the Huon Valley we head towards the magnificent Mt Wellington; at almost 1300 meters above sea level and dwarfing over the city of Hobart, it offers incredible views out to sea and over the city. Afterwards rejoin your vehicle for the drive back to Hobart, arriving to your hotel in the early evening.
