An Australian Luxury Escapes vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence your Penguin, Koalas and Wildlife tour. Departing your hotel this afternoon, we by-pass Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs before driving through beef and dairy cattle farms, horse breeding studs and swampland. We skirt to Westernport to enjoy views of French Island before we cross over the bridge to the sandy and rocky shorelines of Phillip Island, a world leader for environmental conservation. Your first stop of the day is at Churchill Island, the cafe here offers picturesque views and a delightful locally sourced food and drink options; here your afternoon tea will await you on your arrival. Next, it’s time to visit the Koala Conservation Centre; this is one of the few areas in Victoria where you can see a protected koala colony, walk amongst the treetops in nature reserve bush land and see wild koalas within touching distance; you may spot a wild wallaby or echidna as well. Time permitting, we pass by Swan Lake, the island's largest freshwater lake, and head to the ‘Nobbies’. From this magnificent headland, the views stretch over Mornington Peninsula and Bass Strait. One and half kilometres offshore are Seal Rocks, home to Australia's largest Australian Fur Seal colony. Afterwards, you will have access to the less populated boardwalks during the Penguin Parade; enabling you to gain close contact with the penguins without any hustle and bustle. Experience the magic of watching these incredible, flightless seabirds waddle home from the ocean into the dunes where their burrow nests are situated. Lastly, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere overlooking the water while savouring a 2-course dinner made fresh with locally sourced ingredients and sipping on a glass of beer, wine, or soft drink. As your day concludes, re-join your comfortable vehicle and spend time unwinding before returning to your accommodation in the late evening.
