An Australian Luxury Escapes vehicle will pick you up from your hotel to commence your Hunter Valley tour. Departing your hotel, we cruise across the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and make our way through Sydney’s leafy Northern Suburbs, passing the dramatic sandstone outcrops of Ku-ring-gai National Park and the mighty Hawkesbury River. Your drive will continue along Wollombi Road, where if time permits, we will pause to enjoy a light morning tea before continuing on to the Hunter Valley. Arriving in the Hunter Valley, your first stop is Briar Ridge Vineyard, known for producing expressive, contemporary wines that balance creativity with a strong sense of terroir. Here, you’ll enjoy their Radical Tasting, guided through a selection of up to six single-vineyard wines, thoughtfully paired with Manchego cheese and flatbread. Next, we visit Keith Tulloch. Overlooking the vineyards; you’ll enjoy a curated tasting of up to eight wines, guided by knowledgeable staff who share insight into the vineyard’s history, philosophy, and the unique characteristics of Hunter Valley varietals. Lunch today is in the heart of the Hunter Valley - sit back, relax and immerse yourself in the picturesque views, while you enjoy a 2 course lunch showcasing a selection of fine local produce. In the afternoon, we visit Piggs Peake for a private behind-the-scenes tour and tasting. Throughout this tour, you’ll step into production areas not normally open to the public, learn about Piggs Peake’s philosophy, small-batch winemaking techniques, and sustainable practices, and gain insight into how each vintage is crafted from vineyard to bottle. As the day draws to an end, you’ll have enjoyed tastings, connections, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Hunter Valley’s wine culture. We then return to Sydney via the scenic freeway, back to your hotel to conclude the day.
