After a 500m walk, visit the island HQ of volunteer organization Cairns Turtle Rehabilitation Centre where sick and injured turtles are nursed back to health. Your tour leader provides an informative presentation about breeds of turtles in the area and discusses common hazards for turtles who result in their care. The turtles are cared for by volunteers and the hope is to rehabilitate them to be released back into the wild when returned to good health. All ticket revenue is donated back.
