Visit Montalto’s winery and experience the winemaking process firsthand with this unique behind the scenes tour, hosted by award-winning wine team. The day begins with a personal tour of the winery that will bring to life winemaking philosophy - It is done in the cool climate of the Mornington Peninsula grape growing region. Personally hosted by winemaker, taste the wines straight from the barrel and learn about the important changes taking place as the wines mature and develop over time. Through this in-depth tasting and discussion, you’ll learn the differences from vineyard to vineyard, as they individually reflect the winemaking quality, recognized as a “Red Five Star” Halliday rated winery. You will be given a bottle of award-winning Single Vineyard wine to take home with you as a memento of your visit to the winery. After your behind-the-scenes winery experience, it’s time for a generous lunch with matched wines. The menus showcase a seasonal celebration of Estate-grown heirloom produce, alongside the very best locally sourced ingredients from across the Mornington Peninsula. After lunch, you are invited to explore the Montalto Sculpture Trail. Sculpture is an integral part of life at Montalto and a highlight of any visit to the estate.1km Sculpture Trail winds through vines, along wooden boardwalks and through the wetlands and affords spectacular views of both the sculptures and the property along the way. Many of permanent sculptures were winners of the Montalto Sculpture Prize - among the most valuable private sculpture prizes in Australia. Before you leave, pick up your bottle of Montalto Single Vineyard wine to take home with you from The Cellar Door.~~~~
