Ferry out to Rottnest Island from either Fremantle or Perth. Book bike hire before your journey and it’ll be waiting for you on the jetty when you arrive. Cycle around the island’s must-see sights – including lighthouses, old military forts and historic buildings – then discover your own slice of beachy paradise for a picnic and some snorkelling. With warm waters, pristine coral and myriad species of colourful fish, Rottnest’s undersea species are just as interesting as the quokkas on land. Arrive at Barrack Street Jetty, Elizabeth Quay (Pier 4) by 08:15am and collect your boarding pass from the Rottnest Express ticket office using your confirmation number (check in at least 30 minutes prior). At 08:45am, board the Rottnest Express ferry to Rottnest Island. As a special highlight, all Perth departures include a fully commentated Swan River Cruise, offering scenic views and insights along the journey. Arrive on Rottnest Island at approximately 10:45am. Explore the island by bike at your own pace with full-day bike and snorkel hire — enjoy secluded beaches, snorkelling spots, and local wildlife. The island is 11 km long by 4 km wide and takes around 3.5 hours to ride around. Spend the afternoon exploring the island at leisure. Spy some island wildlife, above and below the water and discover hidden corners, picnic spots and off-the-beaten track beaches • Depart Rottnest Island at 04:30pm, returning to Barrack Street Jetty by 06:00pm.
